Stephanie Barrett is a private music teacher in Pasadena, California. Stephanie's students benefit from tailored instruction to suit the individual student's needs. They perform in bi-yearly recitals and have the option to participate in state music testing every spring. Students are also encouraged to audition for youth orchestras and other ensemble opportunities. Stephanie believes that consistency and repetition make up the ultimate recipe for success and encourages her students to develop practice routines that serve them and their goals. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to stay in the lesson, observe, and ask questions so that the parent-teacher team works most efficiently.
Stephanie was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where she attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts before going on to Loyola University New Orleans. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in "elective studies". While in school, Stephanie studied music therapy, music theory, and flute performance, all while maintaining a place in the honors program. Her minor is in psychology.
After graduating, Stephanie moved to Pasadena, California where she continued to study flute and piano with private instructors, began performing as a freelance musician, and developed a private studio of flute and piano students of her own.
Today, Stephanie has two boys, ages 10 and 12, maintains a full studio of music students and is a hobby competitive adult figure skater. Stephanie also enjoys editing music for figure skaters' programs.
